Experience

Self-directed Career Sabbatical
Elk River, MN • July 2025 – Present
Career Sabbatical / Independent Projects

Following my role at Cargill Inc., I took a planned career sabbatical to decompress and reset after an extended period of high responsibility, while also focusing on professional development and independent exploration. During this time, I invested in self-directed learning and hands-on work to deepen and broaden my technical capabilities and better understand how systems, data, and technology interact across different contexts. More recently, I’ve focused on technical skill development by building a mobile application from the ground up, exploring iOS development, Android Studio, API integration, and core backend concepts. In parallel, I’ve worked extensively in Linux environments, managing databases, configuring network file sharing (SMB/Samba), learning foundational networking and security concepts, and building and configuring my own PC and home server infrastructure. Overall, the sabbatical has been intentional and structured—balancing reset, exploration, and skill expansion—allowing me to continue advancing technically while remaining adaptable and applicable across a wide range of professional roles.
